You can call this a charcuterie board if your heart desires, however, it’s technically not one! Charcuterie means cuts of meat and cheese, so when the board does not contain any piece of meat, it’s just a cheese board! There is absolutely nothing wrong with that though! Sometimes it’s pretty magnificent to pair different flavors of cheese with variations of vegetables, fruits, and sugary-sweet bites. Last weekend I wanted to construct a crunchy, sweet, savory, and salty board for my boyfriends family. We had planned on having a cookout, enjoying each others company, and ending the night with some bean bag toss. If you’ve never played it, you should! It is seriously such a fun and exciting game to play in groups, especially if your loved ones have a little competition side built in them. As I mentioned in a pervious post I am on the biggest fitness journey I’ve ever been on. I have recently lost 34 pounds and am still striving for more! I’m feeling just wonderful! Eating loads of clean foods has really been a large contributing factor in the whole entire process. Cody’s family is also on their own health journey’s, so I definitely wanted to make sure that this board had been built with love and lots of hearty, whole foods. Just like on most boards you have to throw on some crunchy goodies and sweet treats! However, for the most part this board is quite healthy.
If any of you are on your own type journey like I am, come create this board with me!

As usual let’s start with the cheese!
As most of you already know who have read my board posts before, I always enjoy having three different types of cheeses that can provide different textures and flavors that are needed!
- On the left we have a smoked bacon cheese from one of my favorite local farms that I visit weekly all season long.
- In the middle is a hot pepper Colby Jack. If you’re a lover of spice these cheeses are ideal to add for paring with the honey comb and jam that I will mention later on!
- Lastly, I wanted to add a sharp white cheddar into the mix because I feel like that’s always needed on a cheese board adorned with fruits and vegetables.
Speaking of fruits and vegetables: Let me show you which ones I chose for this specific board!

- Pineapple spears.
- Cucumber sticks.
- Red pepper sticks.
- Green beans.
- Juicy blackberries.
- Red grapes.
- Rainier cherries- truly the best in the cherry game! (in my opinion)
Additional sweets:

- Puffed pastry filled cookies.
- Honey comb, locally sourced.
- Red raspberry preserves.
The TONS of CRUNCH!

- Ranch seasoned pretzel bites.
- Water crackers.
- Bruschette chips .

If you’re anything like me you plan weeks or even a month ahead of time, so you should be onto your Labor Day menu planning by now! This board will be perfect to sit alongside all of your barbecued items and a mixed berry trifle. It doesn’t matter if you’re grilling hot dogs, chicken kabobs, shrimp, a NY strip steak, or all of the above. Everything will go perfectly fine together. Any sort of get together strives off of a big board such as this. You will not be disappointed! And hey! If you wanted to add meats on to make it an actual “charcuterie” board you are more then welcome to do so. It’s all up to you. Any board, anywhere, for any occasion can be adjusted.
