Catering Dylan & Dave’s Anniversary Dinner.

For all of you social media lovers out there, I’m sure you’ve come across an account called “Raising Dylan”. It’s a couple who built their brilliant brand around the fact that Dylan is much younger then his husband Dave. By 22 years to be exact, but we all know age is just a number! They have a lot of fun flirting, playing pranks, and busting on each other while they show us how they live their day to day life. If you watch one of their videos, you’ll be watching the next couple hundred as you keep scrolling away as two hours pass by without even realizing that you still haven’t done any of the chores you planned to do. This couple is that kind of couple. The relatable, down to earth, loving, incredible couple that takes you away from reality for just a little bit to allow some laughter and joy into your heart, and your life. I see myself in both of them, but I told the boys that I am Dylan and my boyfriend is Dave. What I mean by that is Cody treats me exactly how Dave treats Dylan and I react to Cody just as Dylan reacts to Dave. Dylan loves attention, is always decked to the nines, always needs Starbucks in hand, forever wants to be shopping anywhere he possibly can for anything he could ever dream of, and adores spending time with his significant other. I am also ALL of those things. Dave does anything he can to make Dylan happy, takes him wherever he wants, buys him anything he can, and tries to make every moment they have together the best time possible. Cody does all of those things for me. They’re truly meant for entertainment and influencing because they do an incredible job at making people laugh and wanting to feel the special joys in this life. However, they are more then that to me and probably to most of their followers as well. I wanted to show them how much I appreciate them as individuals, a couple, and their content by spoiling them with the most extravagant and lavish home cooked meal they’ll ever had. Let’s just say they were absolutely blown away!

The best part of the whole entire meal, in my opinion, was the romantic and unique charcuterie board I created for the couples celebration!

As most of my followers already know, I thrive off of themes. I just love surrounding every single board that I build around a holiday, color, season, or honestly.. whatever your heart can conjure up! I’ve shared more than a dozen boards on here over the last few years that I’ve owned this website, but I never shared something as special and as sensational as this! I know the blood, sweat, and tears that goes into my culinary expertise, so I wanted to really take a seat and think long and hard about what I could do to make one of my boards even more beautiful then they ever were before. What better way to send a message then through a charcuterie board?! There’s nothing more exciting then when you receive a gift that’s memorable, marvelous, and most of all.. EDIBLE! As humans we just can’t help but get super giddy when we find out something is edible when it appears to be in fact, not. Maybe I’m the only one?

The edible message was of course: HAPPY 1ST ANNIVERSARY!

Are you ready to find out everything I have this board adorned and decorated with?!

LET’S GET INTO IT!

  • Mozzarella cheese.
  • German cheddar with chive and onion.
  • Baby Swiss.
  • Cranberry stilton.
  • Prosciutto.
  • Hot soppressata.
  • Peppered soppressata.
  • Pumper-nickle bread.
  • Raisin and rosemary crisps.
  • Sweet and spicy pecans.
  • Marinated mushrooms.
  • Hot pepper shooters with prosciutto and sharp provolone.
  • Cucumbers garnished with everything but the bagel seasoning.
  • Sliced red bell pepper.
  • Red juicy grapes.
  • Dried cherries.
  • Dark chocolate covered cherries.
  • Chocolate peanut butter filled sandwich cookies that are dipped in peanut butter and drizzled with some more melted chocolate.
  • Mini peanut butter cups.
  • Chocolate mouse velvet cakes in the shape of pretty pumpkins. They’re covered in white chocolate to add that seasonal pizazz.
  • The cinnamon letter cookies, of course.
  • Rosemary sprigs for a pop of green and a festive garnish because every anniversary board needs a dash of romance, and that’s definitely the herb for that.

Now, let’s get into one of my best known dishes:

BUFFALO CHICKEN PASTA:

For now I’m going to keep this glorious pasta recipe a secret. 😉 I hold it very near and dear to my heart. However, if all of my lovely Diamonds are longing to give the best buffalo chicken pasta they’ll ever eat a taste, you can definitely order from me via Facebook @DeepFriedDiamonds. Most buffalo chicken pastas you will come across are not baked after they are put together. Traditionally, it’s made in a saute pan and then plated with blue cheese crumbles as a garnish. I made mine as if it were a casserole, or baked macaroni and cheese. I’ve always loved the texture and look of the ooey gooey cheese sitting on top of a delicious dish once it’s baked. That fresh out of the oven look is just perfect 👍🏼 and doing that technique with buffalo chicken pasta is the trick to experiencing the most elite buffalo chicken pasta ever.

The appetizer I prepared for these two marvelous men is probably something you’ve never heard of or had before.

Shrimp Rangoon Toast Canapes.

This is a recipe that I posted on my blog last year and when Dylan was scrolling my website it really caught his eye. I don’t blame him! If you love seafood and cheesy appetizers, this is the one for you. Something like this would really be a showstopper on your holiday table this year. It’s great for a cocktail party, especially because it’s an item that’s interesting, yet also familiar. This tasty toast is a play on those infamous crab rangoons that everyone raves over from their favorite Chinese takeout restaurant. The spin is that I added plump, juicy shrimp instead of crabmeat. Instead of stuffing the filling in a wonton wrapper; I serve it over a flavorful, crispy piece of baguette bread.

The Side: Seared Asparagus With A Romano Lemon Cream Sauce.

This is another recipe that I have up on the blog. If you’re an asparagus lover, there’s no doubt in my mind that you’ll be a fan of this. It’s creamy, tangy, and savory. Everything you desire in all of your side dishes, in one!

The Last Course:

Dylan and Dave are big fans of our local Bakery here in NEPA called Whipped Sweet shoppe, so I thought it would be extra sweet of me to surprise them with some of their favorite treats to share. Of course, I have to go above and beyond with everything I do so I had to serve their sweet treats in my Diamond dome that I just believe it so stunning. It really gave the tablescape that extra touch that we didn’t even know it needed.

I poured my heart and soul into this meal because I wanted them to understand that the love they share was just as much love that went into the making of this Anniversary dinner. I knew this was a super special day for them. Therefore, I wanted it to feel like they were enjoying the most exquisite dinner of their lives together. Dylan and dave, I want to thank you both once again for letting me be apart of your outstanding weekend. I would do it again in a heart beat. It was something I will always remember and cherish in my career.

XOXO
