A New Year’s Eve delicacy:
There are two types of New Year’s eve dinners I think of. The first one is of course the lavish, luxurious one. The dinner with all of the fancy fixings. The dinner with all of the expensive, exquisite seafood dishes with a side of perfectly roasted prime rib, bacon macaroni and cheese, caesar salad, shrimp cocktail, and truffle fries with black garlic aioli. You know, the good stuff. The second one is the finger food dinner. The party food that you pick on all night with your family and friends while playing cards, and laughing until the ball drops at midnight. They’re my two favorite dinners, but I am here to show you only one. The one that I made in the Fall and saved to share with you all for a special occasion. Hence, the pumpkin decor in the photos above, and the one’s you’ll soon feast your eyes upon down below.

Savory seasoned chicken wings and an incredible hoagie piled high with the good stuff.
The reason I made the comment earlier that this is the second ultimate combination in the category of food is because we all know Pizza and wings take that number one trophy spot. They get award for being the GOAT of bar, party, and Friday night movie foods, for sure. Tomorrow night, you can go fancy if that’s what you’re planning. However, if you want to go the comforting and cheaper route that’s absolutely not going to disappoint, shoot for this combo. You can do a completely different hoagie than I am. You can bread, fry, and sauce your wings, which is all the way different from my method. No matter which way you want to build and bake this complimentary combination, you won’t be disappointed!
The Wings!

The Flavors: Both are dry rubs!
I did half the wings parmesan garlic, lemon pepper and the other half I did a sweet herbed soy! They both sound a little much, but that’s my vibe and I LOVE a mixing flavors! It’s such an epic adventure for your taste buds and your guests will go wild over them. You will definitely need to make multiple batches.
How to actually cook the wings?!
- Now, I have done these in the air fryer multiple times. However, I also love doing them in the oven as well.
- A bag of frozen wings that are getting baked in the oven need to get thawed out first! That is a must. Dry them on paper towels. Then, they’re ready to get seasoned!
- Toss the wings in a good drizzle of olive oil, softened butter and any seasonings your heart desires.
Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes turning throughout!
If you want to recreate my two flavors of wings, here they are!
Parmesan garlic, lemon pepper wings:
- After tossing them in both the oil and butter, season with seasoned salt, black pepper, lemon pepper, garlic powder, and parmesan cheese. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
Sweet herbed soy wings:
- After tossing them in both the oil and butter, season with seasoned salt, white pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, tarragon, basil, honey, a sprinkle of brown sugar, and a good pour of soy sauce! The umami flavor on these wings are everything and more.

The Hoagie:

How to build a bountiful cold cut hoagie!
- A crunchy, creamy, soft, pillowy, and meaty hoagie is exactly what has always hit the spot for me. I love them. Hoagies, sandwiches, wraps; they were always my thing! A great hoagie comes on a soft delicious roll filled with thinly slices of ham off the bone, premium turkey breast, American cheese, salami, iceberg lettuce, roasted sweet peppers, and thinly sliced tomatoes, of course. Garnished with mayo, salt, pepper, parsley, and oregano. Oregano is necessary on any kind of hoagie.
You always need sides and snacks when it comes to party food, so for this combination I have a popcorn mix.

- Regular buttered popcorn and buttered popcorn puffs. Pop-able snacks are flawless foods to munch on while you ring in the New Year.
