Moist & Chewy Candy Filled Banana Bread!

If you love banana bread and you’re a candy addict, this recipe is quite literally CALLING YOUR NAME!

Banana bread is my favorite thing to bake. Let me tell you Diamonds why. I’ve perfected my own recipe that I created and also shared with you here on the blog a few years back. Now, every time I make it, I tweak it just a bit with a few different ingredients to create an entirely new banana bread that no-one has ever tasted before. At least not the exact one that came out of my Deep Fried kitchen! If you know me, you know I’m pretty much a perfectionist. It’s my downfall and best attribute all in one. Therefore, you will understand when I tell you that this banana bread is perfect. It is perfectly moist, perfectly chewy, and perfectly chocolatey and sweet in all the right places.

This is what it looks like after the oven, but let’s back track a bit! I’ll tell you how you’re going to get to this point!

THE RECIPE:

  • Mash up two very ripe bananas in a mixing bowl. The darker the banana, the sweeter your bread will be. Always remember that!
  • Melt one stick of butter. Usually bread and cake recipes call for unsalted butter, but as you know I’m a little unusual, so we will be using salted butter for this recipe. In that case, you don’t have to add any additional salt into this recipe whatsoever.
  • Two eggs- usually I add one egg into my banana bread, but because there was no filling with all of the crunch candy, I wanted to ensure structure, thickness, and moistness.
  • 1/3 cup of granulated sugar.
  • 1/3 cup of brown sugar.
  • One teaspoon vanilla extract.

Mix together the wet ingredients, then fold in the dry.

  • 2 cups of all purpose flour.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda.

Add the KitKats and club sandwiches into the mix. As many or as little as you want. Also, if you wanted to use different candy bars, that’s totally your choice! Anything goes! I love creativity.

Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes.

A wooden skewer or butter knife should come out clean. Crumbs are okay, but there shouldn’t be wet dough! After letting this beautifully stunning bread cool, you can sprinkle with flakey salt, or even drizzle with melted peanut butter if that’s your style. Then, cut into slices just as you would when building a sandwich.

Banana bread is always wonderful, but mine is phenomenal! You can take my word for it, but I’d rather you Diamonds give this recipe a solid try! It’s worth the hour wait and then some, or you’ll burn your mouth! Banana bread is like ice cream to me. You might be saying well.. “they go together like cheese and crackers”, but how are they anything alike?! One melts, and one does not. However, when I indulge in either of these I LOVE for there to be chunks of chocolate, candy, globs of peanut butter, salty crunchy pretzels in every bite, or whatever piece of cookie dough goodness there is lying around to toss in.

Banana bread is a sweet gift to give. Literally. To give to loved ones, new neighbors, to your nail tech, or your hair stylist. Unless someone happens to be allergic to bananas, it’s just something so yummy and comforting that no-one is ever going to turn down. It will put a smile on their face and you might even make a new coffee or lunch friend because of it! Giving someone a warm welcoming with a soft and chewy, chocolatey treat is always a good way to say hello, thank you, or you’re welcome. If you’re having company over, make this banana bread. If you’re wanting a homemade dessert to have after a Sunday dinner, make this banana bread. If you are sad and in the dumps, make this banana bread. If you are happy that the weekend is almost here, make this banana bread and let me know how much you adore it in the comments below!

If you have anything you’d like to see from me for Valentine’s Day or to get more cozy this winter, leave your thoughts in the comments below! I truly love the feedback.

  1. I have a great banana bread recipe, too – I call it Beyond Banana Bread and it has dried fruit and coconut, along with regular nuts – but your recipe is really intriguing. My husband would LOVE the idea of candy in banana bread. What is the ‘club sandwich’ candy you mentioned? It’s not ringing a bell. Also, I think Reese’s would be GREAT!!!

    1. A “club sandwich” may only be something known in PA. It’s peanut butter filling smashed between two club crackers and the “sandwich” is then covered in milk chocolate. I’m sure you could do dark. However, it’s usually done in milk. They’re very nostalgic for me in my house. My mom has bought them since I could remember! Homemade ones would be just as incredible if you’d like to try and cannot get your hands on them. I was never into coconut or dried fruit in my desserts, but I know people love it! That reminds me of a Christmas or Easter banana bread. Very neat!
