Peanut Butter Pie Banana Bread!

I just know that you’re all drooling right now reading the title of this post! I definitely was drooling the entire time I was making it so I don’t blame you. 😉 If you have been visiting my website for some time now you’d know that I’m more of a chef then I am a pastry chef, of course. However, when it comes to making breads, dessert breads, or quick breads, I just love them. The art of it is amazing to me. Bread is so simple to whip together, but you can make them very complex by being as creative as you want by adding in different ingredients to concoct contrasting flavors of all kinds. Another wonderful thing about bread baking is that it’s perfect for freezing if you’re not going to be serving them right away. The day before hosting a huge brunch or if you’re presenting items on a dessert bar for Easter dinner, remove from the bread from the freezer 24 hours ahead of time and let it thaw on the counter in a paper towel lined freezer bag. It will turn out just perfect! Banana, carrot, lemon, and blueberry flavored treats remind me so much of Easter and Spring themed recipes, which are so fun for me because I just love Easter the most. It’s always been a really nostalgic holiday for me, and if you know me you know nostalgia is something I long to feel.

Let’s start by preparing all of our ingredients!

In a large mixing bowl, prepare the wet ingredients:

  • Two ripe bananas.
  • Two eggs.
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar.
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • 1 stick of melted butter.
  • 1/2 cup of peanut butter.

In a small mixing bowl, prepare the dry ingredients:

  • Two cups of flour.
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder.
  • A pinch of salt.

Mix all of the wet ingredients together so that everything is perfectly combined.

Slowly pour the dry into the wet and mix everything in.

After it’s been mixed you’ll have a beautiful bread batter waiting to be baked!

  • Crush a sleeve of peanut butter pie Oreo’s in a zip lock bag.
  • Fold in most of the cookie crumbs into the batter.
  • Save a handful to decorate the top with.

Right before heading into the oven garnish the top with a few more crumbs.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

YOUR dream dessert bread!

  • Finish the beautiful presentation off by drizzling melted peanut butter and sprinkling the last of the crumbs all around the bread.

Combining two of your favorite desserts into one incredible and remarkable bread just makes for a phenomenal eating experience. The moist, soft bread mixed with the taste and texture of peanut butter pie on top is actually heaven in your mouth! It’s a recipe so damn good you’ll want to share with your friends, so be sure to make multiples! You can gift wrap them for a sweet and cozy care package to send to your loved ones and neighbors that you always count on.

xoxo
