A Beautiful Bruschetta Board!

Bruschetta is just beautiful! It looks extremely beautiful and it tastes even more beautiful! Since I love creating all different variations of bountiful boards, I decided to invent the most perfectly delicious and incredible looking bruschetta board you’ve ever seen! Some of you may have lived your entire life believing that “bruschetta” is what I have in that wonderful white bowl filled with chopped ripened tomatoes tossed in lots of garlic and loads of olive oil, however, it actually is not! I could imagine that some of my Diamonds mouths have just dropped to the floor, but I don’t want to not give you the full details on everything I know.. especially when it comes to food! This aromatic, Italian mixture filled with deliciousness has always been known to be what “bruschetta” is known as, but the toasted bread drizzled with olive oil, and rubbed with a fresh glove of garlic is truly what that item consists of. Now, traditionally it is paired with tomatoes and garlic.. which is why everyone associates this dish with the bread itself, but you can actually pair the toast with all different types of cheeses, cured meats, other chopped vinegary vegetables, and even marinated or roasted fruits. Yes, fruits! I will definitely have to showcase a fruity bruschetta recipe on here very shortly! It’s so so good and super unique. You won’t want to miss trying something like that!

Before we dive more into the upscale end of “bruschetta”, let’s focus on the “original”! Last week my brother requested that I’d make this for him, so without hesitation.. I did just that! You all know I had to kick it up a notch of course, and build a board!

When planning the build of this board I knew I wanted to showcase all of the most popular flavors that are normally paired with the bruschetta. The most exciting thing about the way I designed the flavor profile of this board is that not only can you choose a favorite to top each toast with, but everything can be piled on top of each other to create the most impeccable bruschetta experience you’ve ever had! Most likely probably will ever have as well!!

Ingredients you will need to make the tomato and garlic topping!

Four greenhouse tomatoes.

1/4 chopped red onion.

One whole handful of fresh basil, chopped.

3-4 heads of garlic cloves, chopped.

Look at how stunning and Summer filled those colors look!

  • Drizzle in about 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil into the bowl. I’ve always felt that really good olive oil makes this dish superb!
  • Season with sea salt, freshly cracked black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley to taste.
  • Slice up a French baguette into the thickness of your choice.
  • Drizzle each piece of bread with the same olive oil we poured all over the tomato mixture.
  • Place the bread in a medium sized pan and toast over low heat while slowly flipping them back and fourth until each slice is golden brown.

Perfectly crisp, crunchy, and golden!

You can pile the bread on top of one another. It makes for a really rustic presentation!

Next to the tomatoes and the bruschetta, I arranged some sliced mozzarella rolled with salami and sun-dried tomatoes. Then inside of a dipping plate, I placed two balls of fresh burratta and opened them to let all that creamy goodness start to ooze out!

  • On top of the mozzarella roll I sprinkled some crushed red pepper flakes for an added layer of flavor.
  • On top of the burratta I sprinkled some oregano because I think those flavors mesh very well together.

This board is insanely beautiful for parties out on the patio, the deck, or even inside the house to serve on the kitchen island as everyone walks in when the weather begins to get cooler outside. Even though the food I have arranged all around has Summer written all over it, that doesn’t mean it can’t be tweaked with different ingredients to introduce a new season. Bruschetta has always been a party food and it for sure always will be, but I’m sure you Diamonds have never partied with it quite like this! From now on when you’re thinking of serving any sort of “bruschetta” at your next gathering, do it the Diamond way! You won’t regret it.
